Daily Mileage: 28 km / + 871 m

Day 2: Les Deux Alpes - Col du Galibier

After descending Les Deux Alpes , we will start with Col du Lautaret. Although quite long (34km), it is considered as an appetizer (CAT 1 , avg 3,9%/ Max 8,1%) compared to the iconic Col du Galibier (Hors-Catégorie, 8,5 km, avg 6,88% & 12,1 % Max). First featured in the 1911 Tour de France, Col du Galibier, is one of the highest summits (2,645 m), in Tour de France. Atop after the usual selfie, you will enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the whole Alpes including Mt Blanc. After a quick downhill we will stop at our favourite farmhouse café. The longest downhill, of your life (39km) will definitely help with the digestion. Before climbing again back to Les Deux Alpes (9,8 km at avg 6,2 %) For those with sore legs, a transfer will be offered. Hotel : Chalet Mounier

Daily Mileage: 86 km / + 2,742 m

Day 3 : Les Deux Alpes - Alpe d’ Huez

A “recovery” ride with a twist. The descent of Les Deux Alpes and the following flat section will offer you a respite before today’s “pièce de resistance” : L’Alpe d’Huez. Since 1952, this iconic climb was featured in over 30 Tour de France stages (last in 2022). The 21 legendary bends, each with its own story, have played a pivotal role in Tour de France history. Each bend bears the name of Alpe d'Huez winner. Climbing Alpe d'Huez (Hors Catégorie, 14 km at 8%) brings you closer to the sport's essence. Small advise go steady, meditate and keep the eyes open, you may discover your name painted on the road. After the usual picture on Alpe d’Huez podium, you will surely enjoy the second downhill of the day, this time, more technical. For the return to les Deux Alpes either, you will be offered two option : climb back (additional 26 km & 1,100 m Elev) or for those with sore legs, take the chair lift from Oisans valley. Time to say au “Revoir” to Les Deux Alpes, after the descent and a refreshing ride in the Oisans Valley, we will tackle a regular feature of Tour de France. Col du Glandon’ slope average looks deceiving (4,5 %, over 25 km) as it is sprinkled with several downhills , with most slopes over 7 % and a few transitions over 11 %. The perfect “leg shredder”!! Pic-Nic atop the summit will be the reward for your great effort ; before heading to the last descent of the day to the Maurienne Valley. Hotel : Chateau de Candie or V de Vaujany
